Farmar's recruitment came to a close today when he announced that he'll attend UCLA. The West Coast's top point guard prospect chose the Bruins over Gonzaga, Florida and Arizona. Prior to cutting his list to four schools, Farmar received interest from Stanford, Kansas and UConn, among others.
We asked Farmar why he chose UCLA and he replied, "The networking contacts, the value of the degree and Coach Howland. I think Coach Howland's strengths will help me with my weaknesses. I think I need to work on my defense and my physical strength – those are areas where I think he can help me."
Farmar had an outstanding junior season, leading Taft to the L.A. City semifinals. This past weekend, he was named the Most Outstanding Player at the Tournament of Champions in North Carolina.
