Lakalaka 100% Committed

Honolulu (Haw.) Punahou running back Steven Lakalaka has not wavered in his commitment to UCLA…

Honolulu (Haw.) Punahou running back Steven Lakalaka was one of the earliest commits in the 2012 UCLA recruiting class and he doesn't plan on going anywhere.

"I am still committed 100%," said Lakalaka. "I just feel bad for coach Neuheisel."

Lakalaka said that most schools have backed off him since his commitment to the Bruins and he doesn't plan on taking a visit anywhere but UCLA.

"No, I am not really hearing from other schools since I committed," said Lakalaka. "If I hear from another school I would talk with my parents about it, but I am committed to UCLA."

Coach Neuheisel was one of the reasons that Lakalaka committed to UCLA, but there are some other reasons he is excited to get to Westwood.

"The school is very high on academics," said Lakalaka. "That is something my parents and I really wanted. If football isn't there down the road, then the education is perfect. That is just one of the many reasons why I chose UCLA."

Lakalaka is getting ready to start his basketball season, then it's back to the weight room to get ready for college next fall.

I talked with my parents and I am going to play basketball this season," said Lakalaka. "Other than that I will just train and try and improve my speed."
