Fairbairn Talks Commitment

Honolulu (Haw.) Punahou kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn talks about the firing of coach Neuheisel earlier today and how that impacts his commitment…

Honolulu (Haw.) Punahou kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn committed to UCLA earlier this month. He just heard the news on the fate of the coaching staff and still considers himself a commit.

"I just heard about it recently this morning, I am still committed," said Fairbairn. "I still really like the school and it is bad news that Neuheisel got fired."

Fairbairn is still working on completely processing the news, and will seek out advice on where to go from here.

"I am going to talk to my parents about it.," said Fairbairn. "I want to talk to my parents and coaches, I'll let you know if anything changes."

Fairbairn was planning on taking his official visit to UCLA on January 13th and said he will have to talk to coaches to see if that will still be happening.

His commitment to UCLA in early November hasn't stopped one of the Bruins Pac-12 rivals from pursuing the prospect.

"California Berkeley has been recruiting me really hard," said Fairbairn. "I have an offer from them."
