Yakoo Still Solid to Bruins

Spring Valley (Calif.) Steele Canyon offensive lineman Mario Yakoo was one of UCLA's first lineman commits.

Yakoo got the news about Rick Neuheisel's firing on Monday, but said it hasn't changed things with him for the time being.

"At this time, I'm still committed," said Yakoo.

Like many commits, Yakoo is taking a wait-and-see approach.

"I'm going to let it flow and see what happens and with what coach they get," said Yakoo.

Yakoo also had offers from Arizona, Air Force, Oregon State and San Diego State before committing to the Bruins, and said that schools have stepped back since he committed in summer.

But he's prepared for some calls.

"After I committed, I didn't really have schools calling, but I have a feeling after Coach Neuheisel got fired, they're going to start to contact me again," said Yakoo.
