Lutui Announces Top Three

With the recent firing of UCLA Head Coach Rick Neuheisel, 5-star offensive lineman commit Hiva Lutui will be exploring a couple other options…

"I just took time to go over my choices with my family," said Lutui, of Euless (TX) Trinity. "My parents and I have come down to my Top Three, which I want to focus on."

"UCLA, USC, and Utah," he listed. "This is my final three."

Lutui and fellow commit Laui Moeakiola, as well as 4-star teammate Polo Manukainiu, will be making an official visit to UCLA together Jan. 13.

"USC will be January 20th, and Utah next week or very soon," added Lutui.

Lutui's sister, Line, noted the news of Neuheisel's firing was "sad," as her brother had grown close to the head coach the last several months.

"He doesn't know who will be next in line for coaching," she said.

Lutui spoke with Bruins' defensive line coach Inoke Breckterfield this week. "He said he is still going to recruit me hard like if his job was secure, but no promises if he'll be there or not- depending on the new coach. He believes UCLA is still the best fit for me."

The 6'1, 270-pounder is ranked the top center in the Lone Star State- No. 3 in the nation.
