Noel Mazzone Agrees to be O-Coordinator

Experience and accomplished offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone switches Pac-12 schools, moving from ASU to join Jim Mora's new UCLA staff...

Nole Mazzone, the offensive coordinator for Arizona State, has agreed to be UCLA's new offensive coordinator, according to Scout.com's ASU site, Devil's Digest.

Mazzone, 54, is an experienced, accomplished assistant who has been a college coordinator since 1995.

His offense at Arizona State this season was ranked 26th in the nation, and 29th in 2010.

His passing offense was nationally ranked 11th this season, and 14th last season.

He has been an offensive coordinator at Ole Miss (twice), North Carolina State, Oregon State, and Auburn. He also was the wide receivers coach with the New York Jets in 2006-2008.

He coached Phillip Rivers at NC State.

Mazzone ran a very successful spread at ASU, guiding the offense this season in averaging 32 points and 425 yards per game. ASU quarterback Brock Osweiler had a break-out season, throwing for 3,641 yards and 24 touchdowns, and completed 63% of his passes.

Mazzone is the second ASU assistant to be hired by new UCLA head coach Jim Mora, joining running backs coach Steve Broussard on the Bruins staff.
