Johnson Talks about Trip

The elite running back prospect, Andrew Johnson from Pennsylvania, talks about his unofficial visit to UCLA this last weekend -- and the possibility of him committing in the near future...

Pittsburgh (Penn.) North Hills running back Andrew Johnson, 6-0, 205, made the visit out to California for Memorial Day weekend, and for a kid from the Steel City, California was a great experience for him.

"I had a real good time," Johnson said. "The campus is really nice. I just really enjoyed being there."

After winning the Pennsylvania State 100m championship early on Saturday, Johnson hopped on a plane and headed west, where he spent a lot of time with the UCLA coaches. "I really liked Coach Bieniemy. He is a good coach, and real straight-forward. And Coach Dorrell is a real nice guy, He is pretty laid back, and easy to talk to."

While there has been some speculation that Johnson could commit soon, he said that probably isn't the case. "I want to commit before the season, that's for sure, and maybe before the summer, but not just yet. I really liked UCLA but Pittsburgh is still a possibility. My mom doesn't have a problem with me leaving the state. She wants what is best for me, so if that means leaving the state, then its cool."

Johnson, of course, visited UCLA with Pittsburgh quarterback prospect Anthony Morelli, and there has been speculation that the two would go to UCLA as a package. "Yeah, Anthony and have I talked about going to school together."

Johnson, who really upped his stock at the Penn State Nike Camp, racking up MVP Honors for the Camp, said he is done with camps for the summer.
