With the change of Dennis Erickson out and Todd Graham in, Dozier is going to quickly start the recruiting process again.
"C.J. has decommitted from Arizona State and we're opening things up," said his father Curtis. "We didn't forsee this happening and C.J. was an early commit and didn't take any visits. But the coaching change threw us for a loop. So we're looking at a bunch of other schools."
Dozier had a handful of other offers, and is still hearing from a number of them plus some new schools.
"He's looking at UCLA, Washington, Nebraska, Arizona, Cal, schools he had a relationship with before," said his father. "San Diego State too, the fact that they're in the Big East now makes them appealing. Oregon too, he and Jeremy Castro always wanted to go to school together. SEC schools like Texas A&M and Georgia."
The Sun Devils are not out of the mix for him though.
"Arizona State is still on our radar," said his father. "We're just going to take a look at everyone else."
Dozier graduated last Friday and was set to start at Arizona State on January 5th, so his early admission could open more doors.
"Even Stanford is a possibility," said his father. "He'd have to pick up a couple of classes to get in there, but we're looking at everyone. He's ready to go wherever."
Dozier had a fine senior season for Chaparral and is playing today in the CalState Game Five-Star Game and will plan visits for January before making a final decision.
