"It's just great and a testament to our coaching staff and the players around us," said Shittu.
Shittu, a one-time Stanford commit, has had a roller coaster recruitment, and January figures to be busy for him.
"I've officially visited Texas A&M and Cal and I'm taking the rest of my trips in January," said Shittu.
He'll play in the U.S. Army Bowl on Saturday, then the next three weekends will be full of visits.
Shittu said he's still waiting to hear about admission into Stanford and hopes to hear by his official visit.
He had hoped to announce in mid-January, but now says Signing Day is the likely date.
"Because my last official is late in January, I'll decide then," said Shittu.
Shittu said he doesn't plan to leave California. "Stanford, USC, Cal and UCLA, that's my solid top four," said Shittu. "I'm staying in state for sure."
What position he'll play remains to be seen.
"In the 3-4, I would play end or a 5-tech, and in the 4-3, I could play the three because of my get off," said Shittu.
Shittu has been receiving a number of reps with the first team this week in practice.
