Nance Breaks Down Schools

For the last several months, Texas linebacker Brian Nance has been anxiously awaiting the moment when he will announce his college commitment to the world during the broadcast of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He breaks down which hats will ultimately be displayed on the table Saturday (including a late change), and why...

"I like it out here. It's been fun, getting to meet guys from across the country," said Nance, on his experience in San Antonio thus far. "It's a lot better than I expected. I think it's going to be the best week I've ever had. It's a lot of fun. There's a lot of talent out here, but at the end of the day, I still got to work hard and try to get a starting spot."

"But start or not start, I just want to play. I'm really just out here to have fun."

The defensive star has also enjoyed meeting other stars, and making friendships.

"I've been hanging out and talking with a lot of guys," Nance said. "Guys like Shaq Thompson, Dorial Green-Beckham… Texas guys like LaDarrell McNeil. They're all cool."

Ishmael Adams is another one. In fact, the California corner and UCLA commit has done more than create a bond with Nance. He's helped persuade the Texas linebacker to take a look at the Bruins. -And already add them to his Final Three.

"Arkansas, Baylor, and UCLA," listed Nance on his finalists.

With this, UCLA replaces USC, who Nance planned to officially visit Jan. 20.

He reports he will still be heading to Los Angeles- but a week earlier, and to UCLA instead with Euless Trinity teammates Hiva Lutui and Polo Manukainiu.

"The guys here and Hiva all talk about UCLA and how great it is. I just want to check it out," Nance noted.

He said his trip to Fayetteville could be the weekend of either Jan. 20 or Jan. 28. (TBD)

As reported previously, the 6'3, 210-pounder will not make an official to Baylor, as he has already made several unofficials to Waco.

"I want to go (visit) where I've never been."

When asked why he plans to announce before he makes all of his visits, Nance simply replied, "I've always wanted to announce during this game."
