"It was a really good visit," Morelli said. "The campus is really nice. Even though it's under construction, I really liked the school. I got to talk to a lot of the coaches, so that was cool."
Morelli met with Head Coach Karl Dorrell, asssistant coach Bieniemy, and Offensive Coordinator/quarterback coach Steve Axman.
"Coach Dorrell is a great guy, and really let me know they want me. He is real cool. Coach Bieniemy is a cool guy too. Coach Axman, he really knows his stuff. He has sent a lot of guys to the NFL."
Morelli's strong junior year of 78-for-148 for 1,880 yards and 21 TDs, as well as his strong performances this spring in various camps, has helped to garner around 40 offers. But he has six schools that stand out. "My top six are UCLA, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida State, West Virginia and Pittsburgh. I am probably heading out to Ohio State in June to look at the school. Its not too far. And then I am trying to see Notre Dame at the same time."
Morelli has plans to make an early commitment, but still has no urgency to make a decision. "I'm in no real hurry. I'm still looking around. But I would like to decide before the season."
Morelli will be back on the West Coast in July for the Elite 11 Camp, and he'll swing by UCLA again. "I'm looking forward to going back out to California and seeing UCLA again. The Elite 11 Camp should be pretty fun. Other than that, I am only going to the Pitt Camp."
Elite running back prospect Andrew Johnson from Pittsburg North Hills High also made the trip to California with Morelli, and the possibility to play with each other is something that is still compelling for both of them. "Yeah, Andrew and I talk about going to school together. I think that would be pretty cool."
