Palacio Looking at Bruins

Gardena (Calif.) Serra linebacker Kache Palacio, who was one of the Los Angeles guys scooped up by Adrian Klemm to SMU, is now looking increasingly uncommitted to SMU.

"It's alright," Palacio said, when asked about the strength of his commitment to SMU. "I'm still committed, but I'm definitely looking other places."

One of those places is UCLA, where Klemm landed, and Palacio recently received an offer. Klemm was Palacio's primary recruiter while at SMU, and now he's doing the primary work on Palacio once again.

"I'm starting to like (UCLA)," Palacio said. "They're one I'm definitely looking at. I didn't really look into who my recruiter was, but I did look into where (Klemm went after SMU). He's a great guy."

Palacio went on to say that he won't be basing the decision on Klemm, but more on where he finds his personal best fit. Right now, it looks like the two schools with a shot at flipping Palacio are Washington State and UCLA, but he still lists SMU among his top three.

Recently, fellow Los Angeles-area SMU commit Carl Hulick decommitted from the Mustangs and committed to the Bruins, but Palacio said that wouldn't have much effect on him.

"I just kind of want to look at everything else out there, enjoy my recruitment and make sure I'm making the right decision," Palacio said.

To help him make that right decision, Palacio is taking visits to Washington State and UCLA over the next two weekends. He'll visit UCLA the weekend of the 20th.

Palacio hasn't looked into Washington State much yet, so he's using this weekend as an opportunity to figure out what the Cougars have to offer.

"I talked to their recruiter, but I'm waiting until my trip to get more detail and figure out why I would go to Washington State," Palacio said, after saying that he doesn't care about going out of state to school.

With visits over the next two weekends, Palacio doesn't plan to finalize his decision at least until those visits are over.
