Kaumatule on Westwood Visit

Honolulu (Haw.) Punahou defensive end Luke Kaumatule talked about his official visit to UCLA...

Honolulu (Haw.) Punahou defensive end Luke Kaumatule was part of a large group of prospects from the state of Hawaii that took official visits to UCLA.

"It was awesome," said Kaumatule. "I was there with my teammates, Steven Lakalaka and Ka'imi Fairbairn. Also Shane Brostek and Psalm Wooching from Hawaii, we were all checking it out at the same time."

"That makes it a lot easier, flying out there with guys I know," said Kaumatule. "Having people I know will help a lot. I am just looking for good education and good football put together."

The 6'7" 230lbs prospect was hosted by fellow defensive end Sam Tai, and said the staff kept them busy throughout the weekend.

"They showed us around the campus and gave us a tour," said Kaumatule. "They let us hang out with players and we checked out the Rose Bowl."

Kaumatule has been committed to Stanford for some time, but is still waiting for acceptance. Did this visit to UCLA open up his commitment at all?

"I know it is a great campus and all, they really take care of their players," said Kaumatule. "But if I get into Stanford I will still go there."

"Right now I am taking visits so that if I don't get in, I know my second option," said Kaumatule. "I am headed to Washington next weekend and Colorado the week after that."
