Willliams Visits Other Schools

Alonzo Williams, the Texas A&M commit who transferred from Abbeville High in Louisiana to Long Beach (Calif.) Poly for his senior year, took an official visit to one Pac-12 school last weekend and will visit another this weekend...

"I like the environment at Washington," said Alonzo Williams. "It's in a city where you a can do a lot of things. It did snow two and a half inches while I was here. I'm visiting UCLA on the 20th. When I wanted a UCLA offer, they didn't offer so it's kinda late for them. They didn't offer until Friday. Same thing with Hawaii. They didn't offer when I wanted them to.

"Right now, I'm committed to Texas A&M and I don't know what it would take for Washington, UCLA or another school to change my mind. You know what they say about first and last impressions?"

Where do the Aggies stand with Williams?

"I'm visiting Texas A&M on the 27th and they're coming out here to see me on Wednesday," he said. "They have a good shot (to keep him). I don't know much about Coach (Kevin) Sumlin, but I'm trying to get to know as much as I can about him.

"The A&M coaches are excited that I'm still committed, and I want to people to know that - for now - I'm committed to Texas A&M."

Prior to his senior year, Williams transferred from Abbeville in south Louisiana to California. He had a tremendous season in 2011 for national power Long Beach Poly.
