Caleb Smith to Announce Today

Kent (Wash.) Kentridge tight end Caleb Smith will make his final decision between Arizona State, Oregon State and UCLA today...

Kent (Wash.) Kentridge tight end Caleb Smith committed to Oregon State early in the fall. Since then, the 6'6" 242-pound prospect has opened up things a bit, looking at both Arizona State and UCLA.

Smith has already taken an official visit to Corvallis, but this weekend he headed south again for an unofficial trip.

"Oregon State, it was great," said Smith. "But at this point I'm still pretty much up in the air."

Smith still considers himself a commit to the Beavers, but will finalize that decision shortly.

"Arizona State is coming in tonight (Sunday)," said Smith. "After that I am going to talk with my family and make a decision tomorrow (Monday)."

Smith was in the unique position this weekend of both recruiting other prospects for OSU and being recruited himself.

"It kind of went both ways, I was talking to some guys that were uncommitted," said Smith. "Then some committed guys were talking to me."

Even though it was an unofficial visit, Smith was able to spend almost all of the time with the other recruits.

"I still did pretty much everything, I just had to pay my way," said Smith. "We went paintballing Friday night, then bowling...a bunch of stuff, it was fun."

With a decision coming Monday, on a process that has been over a year in the making, is Smith getting tired of the process?

"It's still pretty enjoyable," said Smith. "You have to find the fun in everything, you can't take life too seriously."
