Moreau Getting Some Interest

Davie (Fl.) Western wide receiver Fabian Moreau, who seemingly came out of nowhere to commit to UCLA earlier this month, is starting to gather some more national attention.

"Illinois and Ohio State are starting to recruit me a little more," Moreau said. "Illinois offered me as a running back, but Ohio State hasn't offered me yet. I'm hoping for an offer from them soon."

The speedy Moreau committed to the Bruins as a slot receiver for Noel Mazzone's offense, and still considers himself a solid commitment to UCLA. Illinois and Ohio State have only recently entered the picture for him, so he's not sure yet whether he'll take an extended look at the two schools from the Big Ten.

"I really don't know right now, if I'm going to seriously consider (either Illinois or Ohio State)," Moreau said. "I'm still committed to UCLA, so I don't really know if I'll take a longer look at them."

The three star does not yet have plans for visits to either school, and with signing day fast approaching, there may be little opportunity to do so. Even if Ohio State offers him, he doesn't think that'll change his status with UCLA.

"At this point, I'm totally committed to UCLA," Moreau said. "(An Ohio State offer) probably won't really change that. I'd have to see the campus, and feel comfortable, and all that."

In case Moreau was thinking about wavering, he had an important visitor last night.

"(UCLA coach Jim Mora) actually came by yesterday," Moreau said. "He met with me and we talked, so that was cool."

While there were reports that Moreau might look at Ole Miss, or possibly Vanderbilt, he said that the only schools that he's still thinking about to any degree are UCLA, Illinois, and Ohio State.
