Chandler (Ariz.) wide receiver Javon Williams announced for UCLA Wednesday during his signing day announcement, choosing UCLA over Arkansas.

Williams, who is 6'5, tripped to UCLA this past weekend, and as we reported, it was thought that he was leaning toward the Bruins since then.

Williams is a three star receiver, and is ranked 53rd at the position in the country.

"I've got a lot of teammates and friends in the Pac-12," Williams told Fox Sports Arizona when asked his reasons for going to UCLA. "It's close to home."

Williams will be joining with an old teammate at UCLA in quarterback Brett Hundley.

"Brett Hundley is playing for UCLA right now," Williams said. "He was my starting quarterback last year, and he'll be my starting quarterback next year."

Williams started getting interest from UCLA very late in the process, and ultimately it came down to proximity to home.

"UCLA came in two weeks before signing day," Williams said. "I like UCLA and we grew a pretty close relationship since we started talking."
