Payton Flips (Again) to UCLA

The receiver prospect from Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian, Jordan Payton, after changing his mind numerous times and verbally committing to a few schools (and a couple of them on national television) signed a UCLA NLI this morning...

Jordan Payton, the 6-2, 200-pound wide receiver prospect from Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian, signed a National Letter of Intent for UCLA Wednesday morning.

Payton verbally committed to Washington on ESPN Tuesday night. He had verbally committed to Cal at the U.S. Army game. He also had, according to sources, at one point told Michigan he was going there, and UCLA.

Sources are telling us that he, obviously, was very confused, but when he came to school Wednesday morning he had settled on UCLA.

At the ceremony at Oaks Christian Wednesday morning, the athletic director announced that Payton would be going to UCLA, to the surprise of the crowd.

As soon as the announcements were done, Payton came off the dais. I approached him and asked him for an interview. At about the same time an OC administrator came up to us, opened up a folder with a UCLA NLI, and handed Payton a pen for him to immediately sign it. He did, then turned to me and said, "I have something I have to do." And he went with the administrator to fax it, I assume.

It felt like the administrator wanted him to sign it as soon as he got off the dais so he wouldn't have another chance to change his mind.
