Santa Monica (Calif.) athlete Sebastian LaRue (6-0, 175), has eight offers in the mix, and more will likely be coming his way during the spring.

LaRue had early offers from Boise State, Houston, Idaho and Arizona as well as UCLA and Arizona State, before coaching changes.

"I was offered by Coach (Jim) Mora last week and I also picked up an offer from the new Arizona State staff," said LaRue. "Mississippi State and Washington also offered me."

And LaRue said a handful of other schools are showing interest in him.

"I'm hearing from Tennessee Auburn, Oregon, San Diego State and Nebraska. I think Texas A&M could be offering me soon. Coach (Kevin) Sumlin offered me at Houston and Coach (Marcel) Yates offered me at Boise State," said LaRue. "Most schools are recruiting me as an athlete. I play receiver and corner, and right now, I really don't know which side I want to play."

LaRue said he plans to attend the Los Angeles NFTC as well as play on the 7on7 circuit with Gridiron Football Academy, where he made his first splash last spring playing opposite Darreus Rogers.

"Me and my good friend Anterio Bateman (Serra's 2013 running back) are going to play together with Gridiron," said LaRue.

LaRue said he's also hoping to go to UCLA and USC's Junior Day as well as take an unofficial to Boise State, where his good friend, and SaMo teammate, Chris Collins, signed last week.

When he'll make a decision, remains to be seen.

"My brothers were both recruited so I got to see the recruiting process," said LaRue. "I'll go through the process as long as I need to and when you get the feeling, you just kind of know."

LaRue had 31 receptions for 554 yards and six touchdowns plus 18 tackles and two picks as a 2011 junior.
