The offer was what started the week off right.
"San Diego State offered me as an athlete and I was really excited and relieved to get the first offer. Coach (Tony) White offered me," said Richardson. "And I know there are more to come."
On Sunday, Richardson took in USC's Junior Day and had a good experience there.
"It went good and it made my interest in them go higher," said Richardson. "USC is a lot about tradition and about being a good student-athlete. They talk about how they want to get their playmakers the ball and how they have the most experience of getting their players to the NFL."
Richardson said that the USC coaches talked with him and told him what their plan was.
"I talked with Coach (Kennedy) Polamalu and he said he wanted me to come back to their camps and if I do well, they could offer me," said Richardson.
Which side of the ball Richardson will play is still to be decided.
"Whatever school I go to, I'll just play," said Richardson. "I prefer receiver because that is what I am most comfortable with but I'll play wherever."
Richardson said a number of other schools are showing interest in him.
Last fall, Richardson had 34 receptions for 496 yards and three touchdowns as a 2011 junior at helping the Gauchos to the City Section title.
