"It was really nice there and it was a really cool experience," said Simko. "All the coaches were really good and really professional."
Simko chatted with offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone and had some good dialogue with him.
"I talked mostly with Coach Mazzone and he said during spring ball he's going to watch me throw," said Simko. "He said he's not going to offer anyone unless he sees them in person. And I'm going to go to their camp too."
Simko grew up a UCLA fan and has worked out with Bruin quarterback Richard Brehaut.
"Growing up, I always liked UCLA and I've worked out with Richard Brehaut over the years and he's been a big influence on me," said Simko.
Simko said that while he's waiting for his first offer, most schools have been clear with him about what their plans are.
"I haven't gotten any offers yet but most want to see me throw during the spring," said Simko.
Simko is hearing from a number of schools from around the West as well as a Big Ten school.
Aside from UCLA, Simko said he likes Oregon State a lot as well.
"Oregon State runs an offense that fits me," said Simko.
Simko said he plans to do a number of camps this spring and summer.
"I'm going to camp at San Jose State, San Diego State, USC, UCLA and the Elite 11," said Simko.
Last fall, Simko threw for over 2,300 yards, 20 touchdowns and three interceptions.
Academically, he has a 3.3 and will take the SAT next month.
