Fitts Breaks Down Junior Day

Not many players have been as active on the Junior Day front as Redlands East Valley (Calif.) lineman Kylie Fitts. The talented rush end attended his third Junior Day in as many weeks when he visited UCLA on Sunday...

Kylie Fitts had previously visited USC and California. The athlete said all three Junior Days had their pluses and he definitely enjoyed his time in Westwood.

"I absolutely loved it there," Fitts said. "The coaches were incredible, everything started with them. They bring a great attitude and I was really impressed with all of them. You can really tell they are going to turn things around quick and get back on track to being a quality team.

"Coach Mora was especially impressive. He values toughness, that was the major theme. He said in the past, UCLA was known as being a soft team but that won't ever be the case as long as he's there. He's a really impressive guy and someone I was very comfortable with."

Fitts said the Junior Day ended around 1:30 but he stuck around and spent a lot more one on one time with the staff.

"I ended up staying there until around 4:30," Fitts said. "All the defensive coaches stayed around and we were talking non-stop for three more hours. I really enjoyed it and liked what they had to say. They went over the defense pretty in depth and showed me how I would fit in there.

"I talked a lot with the DL coach, Angus McClure, the DC, Lou Spanos and also Demetrice Martin, who recruits my area. I also had some cool one on one time with Coach Mora, so it was a great time. UCLA definitely moved up my list after this visit and I have a lot of interest in them right now."
