Five Stand Out for Elite Tailback

Redlands (Calif.) is home to one region's premier running backs. Craig Lee is hearing from schools all over the country and has a few early front runners...

Craig Lee is an elite back, currently rated No. 3 in the West region and No. 24 nationally. As a junior, he rushed for 1,534 yards and 15 touchdowns and should be fun to watch this spring/summer.

"Right now, I have offers from UCLA, Oregon State, Washington, San Diego State and Colorado," Lee said. "I'm also hearing from USC, Oregon, Michigan, Penn State, Arizona, and San Jose State.

"It's still early for me but right now I like USC, Washington, UCLA, Oregon and San Diego State, that would be my top five. I grew up a USC fan and went to their Junior Day and had a good time there. I might camp with them over the summer and hopefully they offer."

Lee is currently running track and trying to stay in shape for football.

"I'm working out five to six days a week," Lee said. "Right now, I'm looking forward to going through the recruiting process. Location is important to me, I want to be comfortable where I'm at. I'm also looking at the academics of the school and how I fit in with the football program.

"I want to go somewhere that likes to run the football and is committing to the running game. The overall strength of the football program is important too, I want to play for a winning team with a chance to do some big things in the future."

Greg Biggins has been covering recruiting for over 15 years, covering the West since the mid-1990's and currently serves as a national analyst for Scout.com/FOXSportsNext.
