Milpitas (Calif.) defensive lineman Vita Vea (6-5, 270), has a handful of offers and thinks more could be coming.

"Arizona, Cal and Oregon State and I think USC, Oregon, Notre Dame and UCLA are offering me," said Vea.

Vea plays outside linebacker in a 3-4, but projects to play inside in college.

If he had his choice, he'd play neither position in college.

"Some schools offered me as a linebacker and some offered me as a defensive end, but I'm looking at playing either middle linebacker or tight end. It doesn't matter to me where I play, but I like middle linebacker," said Vea.

Vea said that a number of schools plan to come and see him in the spring.

"A lot of schools want me to come and visit and I've been invited to a lot of their camps," said Vea.

Vea said that Oregon is a school he's high on.

"Coach (Nick) Allioti likes me as an outside linebacker and I like Oregon a lot," said Vea.

Nearby San Jose State has also expressed interest.

"They've talked to me but I don't think they've offered me yet," said Vea.

Last fall, Vea had 105 tackles and seven sacks despite missing three games. The season before, he had 150 tackles.

"I'm going to take all of my visits before I decide," said Vea.
