Three in-state schools are also showing a good deal of interest in him.
"I went to Junior Day at USC, UCLA and Cal and those were all really good experiences," said Sorenson. "I'm planning on going to a USC spring practice soon and I know I'll be going to a UCLA spring practice as well."
Sorenson got his first offer from SMU a year ago, from then offensive line coach Adrian Klemm and Klemm continues to recruit him at UCLA. And his good friend, and teammate, Erik Bunte, committed to the Bruins last week.
"Coach Klemm offered me at SMU and I talked a lot with him at Junior Day and with Erik going there, UCLA would be a great option," said Sorenson.
Sorenson is planning a number of visits for the spring.
"I'm for sure going to Washington for their Junior Day, and to Colorado in the spring and probably Washington State too," said Sorenson.
Sorenson played tackle last year for Santa Margarita but said that there hasn't been a specific position mentioned from coaches.
"Schools are recruiting me just as a general offensive lineman," said Sorenson. "I could play tackle or guard so they haven't really specified."
Sorenson said he doesn't have any immediate plans to commit and also doesn't have a set timetable.
"It all depends on how the whole recruiting things going," said Sorenson. "But I may decide to take some visits."
Sorenson said he will camp at the Los Angeles Nike Camp and that's his only camp set in stone.
