Six Schools for Thompson

Arguably the best tight end prospect in the state, Corona Santiago's Dale Thompson has continued to add scholarship offers, and says he has a solid six schools he's considering...

Probably the top tight end in California in the 2004 class, Corona (Calif.) Santiago's Dale Thompson, continues to add more scholarship offers to his resume.

As it stands now, he has 13 offers, including most of the Pac-10, Colorado, Utah and Michigan. "My top six is pretty much down to UCLA, USC, Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon and Michigan," said Thompson.

The 6-4, 227-lb. senior-to-be is keeping himself plenty busy this summer, with passing leagues with his high school team taking up the majority of his workload. Because of that and the offers he has, Thompson isn't in a hurry to make a decision. "I want to take my visits, unless I really feel the need to do it early. But with my offers, I can take a little more time and find the right school," said Thompson.

He attended UCLA's Junior Day in May and had a good time. "I thought the campus was real nice, and I had a lot of fun with the coaches. Coach Weber is recruiting me, he is a real good guy and a good coach. I met Coach Dorrell at Spring Practice and was there for the Spring Game. I like him a lot. He is a real good coach and a very stand-up guy."

Thompson plans to attend both UCLA and USC's camps the next couple of weeks, most likely for a day each. After that, though, he plans to focus on the summer and his senior year.
