Mazzone Offers Arizona QB

The #23-ranked quarterback in the nation, Tyler Bruggman from Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy, had a relationship with former ASU and current UCLA Offensive Coordinator Noel Mazzone, which led to a recent phone call...

Scout.com has confirmed that Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy quarterback Tyler Bruggman has received a new offer, bringing him to nine overall.

The offer comes a familiar face, former ASU and new UCLA Offensive Coordinator Noel Mazzone.

Bruggman described how Mazzone offered him a UCLA scholarship: "I just got off the phone with Coach Mazzone. He has been recruiting me since he was at Arizona State. We have been talking for a while and he told me that he doesn't offer quarterbacks unless he can look them in the eye. But this time he asked me who all I had offers from, so I told him. He asked, 'How come you didn't say UCLA?' I told him because you haven't offered yet. He said that I have had an offer for a while. We laughed about it and said from now on I had to list UCLA first when I tell people who I had offers from. I told him he had a deal."

Bruggman (6-2 190) also has offers from Indiana, Washington State, Michigan State, Arkansas, Arizona, Purdue, Arizona State and Colorado State.

Bruggman threw for 2,497 yards and 37 TDs versus just 2 INTs as a junior.
