Brown Offered by Childhood Fave

Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey defensive back Daquawn Brown visited UCLA over the weekend for the Bruins scrimmage and picked up an offer from his childhood favorite a few days later...

Daquawn Brown has seen his stock rise over the last month and is now getting mention as one of the top cover corners in the region. Arizona State was the latest offer a week ago and the Bruins just offered this morning.

"I love UCLA and I'm really excited about this offer,' Brown said. "Growing up, UCLA and Oregon were the two schools I always followed so this offer really means a lot. Their interest started to pick up and I kind of saw this coming but it was still a big deal.

"I was there Saturday and noticed a big difference in the team versus previous years. They were running all over the place and it was a very up-tempo practice. I didn't get to talk with Coach Martin, the DB coach, but talked a lot with Coach Yarber and then some of the players I know on the team."

Despite the offer, Brown said he has no plans to make an early decision.

"No, I still plan to go through the process," Brown said. "I'm going to take my time and go through the process. I still want to check out more schools and take some visits before I make a commitment anywhere but UCLA is definitely high on my list."

In addition to the Bruins, Brown also has offers from ASU, California, San Jose State, and Washington State.
