Gardena Soph Gets UCLA Offer

Gardena (Calif.) Serra sophomore corner Adoree Jackson is already among the most heavily recruited defensive backs in the state. He'll be a national prospect when he's a senior and landed his first in-state offer on Monday.

Adoree Jackson was a 1st team all-league corner last season and is one of the nation's top long jumpers. He also anchors the Cavs 4X100 and 4X400 meter relay teams that will both compete for state titles.

The corner was just named to the all-tournament team at the recent IMG/Madden 7 on 7 tournament. He's a very gifted athlete with an extremely high upside to him.

"I just got offered by UCLA," Jackson said. "I talked with the DB coach, Demetrius Martin and also talked to Coach Mora. I like UCLA a lot, they're the local school and this is a big offer for me.

"Coach Martin said he's going to be recruiting me really hard and told me how much they like me. I haven't been up to the campus yet but he wants me to come out and check out a spring practice. It's hard because of track but I'm going to talk to him more tomorrow. I had to go to class so it wasn't a super long conversation but I'm going to talk to them more tomorrow."

The offer from the Bruins was No. 8 for Jackson joining earlier offers from Colorado, Nebraska, Northwestern, SMU, Utah, Washington and Washington State.

"I'm also hearing from USC, LSU, Alabama, Miami and Florida," Jackson said. "I'm going to try and camp with both USC and UCLA in the summer if I can. I'm not sure about the rest of my summer plans but I'm going to try and get to those two schools for sure."
