Carrington Catching Eyes

The San Diego (Calif.) Horizon athlete, Darren Carrington Jr., has four offers and they come on both sides of the ball...

San Diego (Calif.) Horizon athlete Darren Carrington is up to four offers and more schools have been talking with him this spring.

"I have offers now from San Diego State, Montana, Washington State and Arizona," said Carrington. "They're all offers as a receiver, except for Washington State, they want me as a corner."

In addition, a number of other programs have been in contact with Carrington and USC has come by his school already.

"I've been hearing from Oregon, Penn State, Washington and UCLA," said Carrington. "It's mostly just talk right now. Hopefully more offers will come soon."

Carrington, the son of former NFL safety Darren Carrington Sr., is planning a busy summer, with a multitude of camps on the docket.

He camped at the SoCal NFTC and will do a good amount of college camps.

"I think I may try to do one more Nike Camp, and then I'm going to the Oregon camp, the USC Rising Stars Camp, the Nebraska camp and the Oklahoma camp," said Carrington. "We haven't chosen all of them yet. I'm also trying to find a 7on7 team to play on."

While his father played safety in the NFL, Carrington hopes to make his mark on offense.

"I want to play receiver, but really, it doesn't matter," said Carrington. "Whatever spot that school wants to give me an opportunity to play, I'll play it."

Academically, Carrington has a 3.1 GPA and will take the SAT this spring.
