Keys Could Camp at UCLA

The La Mesa (Calif.) Helix receiver, Kendal Keys, may camp at UCLA this summer...

La Mesa (Calif.) Helix receiver Kendal Keys has had a bevy of schools come by his campus this spring and more schools are planning to come by in the coming month.

Colorado, who is the most recent school to offer Keys, and USC, were on campus on Tuesday and Boise State and Notre Dame have already been by.

Soon to come by the campus is UCLA, Oregon State, San Diego State and more.

"Colorado is my newest offer and they offered me as a receiver," said Keys. "USC also came by. The other day, Coach (Pete) Kwiatkowski from Boise State was by."

Keys said that he thinks the Broncos could be the next to offer him.

"I think either Boise State or Notre Dame could be the next ones to offer," said Keys. "It's a tie between them who I think could be next. Notre Dame has been talking with my coach a lot and is really interested. And Boise State has been talking with me a lot and I think they could offer next."

UCLA, Oregon, Arizona, Arizona State and Utah have also been showing interest in Keys and will be coming by his school this month.

Keys said that the majority of his interest from schools is coming as a receiver, though some have hinted at safety.

"I want to play receiver, that's my main position, but I want to help the team," said Keys.

Keys was at the NLA Elite 7on7 in March and the NFTC in SoCal last month and said he's hoping to hit college camps, potentially at San Diego State, USC and UCLA this summer.

"I might attend some in the summer, if it doesn't interfere with anything with school practice," said Keys, who helped Helix win the CIF State D-II title last fall.

The Highlanders will begin spring practice in two weeks, in hopes of defending both their CIF State and CIF-San Diego Section titles.

Academically, Keys has a 3.0 and will take the SAT in June.
