The camp will also feature a pair of former Bruins, all-American kicker and punter Chris Sailer and longsnapper Chris Rubio.
UCLA signed Kai'ami Fairbairn in February to take over the kicking duties, but with Kevin McDermott and Jeff Locke heading into their senior seasons, the Bruins will need a punter and a snapper in the 2013 class. They had a snapper committed, Cole Mazza, but he flipped to Alabama last week.
That will allow some of the top snappers in the West an opportunity to work out in front of the UCLA coaching staff and perhaps earn a scholarship offer. Rubio, long respected as the premier snapping coach nationally, has two of his top five snappers in the 2013 class, scheduled to participate.
Reed Buce, 6-2, 240, Glendale (Ariz.) Mountain Ridge, ranked third nationally by Rubio.
"Ball is crisp, fast and tight. He gets back well and he moves well on his feet. Continuing to master blocking and getting set is final hurdles to fine tune," said Rubio.
Chase Dominguez, 6-4, 185, Orange (Calif.) Lutheran. Ranked fifth by Rubio for 2013, longer and leaner snapper.
"Chase is a smooth long snapper that might be one of the most accurate and consistent in the country," said Rubio.
The punter position has been a spot in which UCLA has had a nice run of elite punters, in the last 16 seasons. Sailer punted from 1995-1998, Nate Fikse from 1999-2002, Chris Kluwe from 2003-2004, Aaron Perez from 2005-2008 and Locke from 2009-present.
So that means the punter UCLA signs has a good chance of being the guy for a long time.
Four of Sailer's top punters will be in attendance at the camp, including two from out-of-state.
While UCLA will likely not sign a kicker in this class with Fairbairn on board, some of the kickers expected include Moorpark (Calif.) kicker Erik Kreitz, Las Flores (Calif.) Tesoro's Zach Schottenfeld, Irvine (Calif.) Jeremiah Carter and Gilbert (Ariz.) Williams Field's Derek Gregson.
