Montgomery Looks Good at UCLA

Compton (Calif.) Dominguez defensive back Kalan Montgomery had a solid showing at UCLA's football camp last Friday, in what was his third camp of the spring...

Kalan Montgomery is a versatile defensive back who could play corner or safety in college.

"I have some schools recruiting me for safety and some for corner," Montgomery said. "Right now, my offers are from Arizona, Hawaii and San Diego State. Arizona likes me at safety, Hawaii at corner and SDSU likes me as an athlete.

"I'm also hearing from UCLA, Washington, Washington State and Oregon State. The UCLA camp was cool and I thought I did well. I worked hard and learned a lot of new things out there so it was a good time."

Montgomery previously camped with Arizona and SDSU.

"I enjoyed both camps a lot," Montgomery said. "The facilities at Arizona were really nice and I like the coaches a lot. It was cool to put a name with a face and the coaches have been recruiting me for a while.

"SDSU was fun too and I love the area. I camped with a lot of local players that I know so that made the camp even more fun. It was intense and we worked hard but I like that. Right now, I'm planning to take my time and do all my official visits. I'm going to take them all after the season so I won't be a distraction to my team. My focus is on my team right now and I'll look at recruiting afterwards."
