Brandon Arnold's Big Rise

The Encino (Calif.) Crespi safety, Brandon Arnold, went from no offers to 13 in no time at all...

Encino (Calif.) Crespi safety Brandon Arnold (6-1, 190), went from being without an offer, into double-digits, relatively quickly.

"I was getting a little frustrated at first, but talking to my coaches, they said be patient and that I was just going to be a late bloomer and I would get mine," said Arnold.

It started with offers from South Dakota and South Dakota State and now Arnold is at 13.

"I expected that it would pick up but I didn't expect it to pick up that fast," said Arnold. "Right when spring ball started, it picked up like crazy."

Arnold said that there are still a few more schools he think could be close to offering.

"UCLA, Oregon, Arizona State and possibly Boise State are the ones I think could be the closest to offering me," said Arnold.

In the meantime, two schools are heading the pack, both having offered.

"Right now, standing out the most are Michigan State and Cal," said Arnold. "The two visits I know for sure I will take are to Cal and Michigan State."

Arnold camped at UCLA last weekend, and said it was a good camp for him.

"I thought I did really well and the coaches gave me some good feedback, and I think they could be close to offering me," said Arnold.

Arnold said he will take all of his trips.

"I plan to take all five visits, and I'll probably decide either early season or mid-season on where I'll go and then make my decision right after that," said Arnold.

Brandon is in his eighth year with Scout.com and FOXSportsNext, currently as a National Recruiting Analyst and West Regional Manager. Prior to joining the Scout Recruiting Team, he was a team recruiting writer.  He's been covering recruiting for the Scout Network since 2003.
