Savaiinaea Opens Up Things

The #2-ranked middle linebacker in the nation, Honolulu (Haw.) Punahou's Isaac Savaiinaea, is no longer committed to Stanford, after taking an unofficial visit to another Pac-12 school...

Honolulu (Haw.) Punahou five-star outside linebacker Isaac Savaiinaea committed to Stanford after an unofficial visit earlier this spring. However, a recent trip to Westwood may have changed things.

"I am opening things up, leaving my options open," said Savaiianea. "I saw UCLA yesterday, it's a great place. I think I was starstruck seeing my first college (Stanford), now seeing other colleges I think I need to sort things out."

Savaiinaea will consider and take official visits to at least four programs.

"I am looking at UCLA, Stanford, Texas A&M and Notre Dame," said Savaiinaea. "I am not sure on a fifth."

Savaiinaea is in California this week, but won't take any more visits until he can start making official trips this fall.

"I am just doing the B2G camp and The Opening in Oregon next week," said Savaiinaea. "I am not trying to push it that much; I want to save myself for The Opening."

"UCLA was my last unofficial and it was just on the way. Now I am just planning out my officials," said Savaiinaea. "I talked with A&M about going to the Arkansas game, that is my bye week, so it is a good time to go out to Texas."

When on his official visits this fall, the 6'3" 230lbs prospect will evaluate each program based on a full college experience.

"The environment, where I feel more at home," said Savaiinaea. "The people that are there and if I will have fun along with football and school. Where I can really enjoy my four years."
