The Opening: Brendan Langley

BEAVERTON, Ore. - Brendan Langley was a slowed down a little on day one at The Opening due to a sore groin, but he kept on grinding. Find out where he stands in recruiting right here.

"I have always planned to commit in the summer and I still plan to," Brendan Langley told Scout at The Opening. "I thought I would commit in June a while back, but I am pretty sure now that I will be committing in August. I think I will commit the week before our first game."

The star corner out of Marietta (Ga.) Kell is still considering six schools. He talks a little about some of those.

"Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, and UCLA are the schools I am still thinking about.

"I was recently out at UCLA and I loved it. If you are from there, I do not see how you don't go there. It has everything.

"Alabama has always been up there for me and they have everything. They play great defense and have a lot of tradition there.

"Tennessee is about to start playing Alabama-like defense I think with their new defensive coordinator (Sal Sunseri), so I like that."

"Georgia is the home-state school and they were the first school to offer me. South Carolina offered me early and I like how their defense plays. Florida has a lot of history and I like their coaches."

Right now, the 6-foot-1 cornerback is focused on showing why he has on those offers here at The Opening, but he is looking forward to ending the recruiting process in the near future.

"I feel honored to just be in this position, so it is a blessing to have these offers," Langley said. "It is my dream to play college football, so my hard work has gotten me here.

"Our first game is on Saturday August 25 and I will either commit then or during the week before that."

Langley does not have any visits planned at this time.
