UCLA Offer Makes Hunt Think

The Corona Centennial offensive line prospect, Cameron Hunt, is committed to Cal, but a recent UCLA offer clearly has him thinking...

Cameron Hunt established himself this past spring/summer as one of the elite offensive lineman in the region. He earned OL MVP honors at the NorCal NIKE Camp and then had a very impressive showing in Oregon at The Opening.

Hunt remains a solid commitment to California but he recently picked up an offer from his early local leader and does have some interest.

"UCLA offered me last week," Hunt said. "I had kind of mixed emotions about to be honest. I camped with UCLA early in the summer and really thought they were going to offer after the camp. That was my early favorite and I probably would have committed to them had they offered earlier.

"I talked with Coach Klemm and it went well. He said they love me and really want me in the program. He said lineman are dropping like flies during fall camp and they just took a couple of JC kids because they need depth. UCLA is close to home and Klemm likes the OL class he's bringing in so I'm staying committed to Cal but I'm going to give UCLA a look."

Hunt said he's recruiting hard for the Bears right now and is excited for the upcoming season.

"I'm doing my best to help Cal bring in a great recruiting class," Hunt said. "I know last year, that was a big part of the class coming together, a lot of players were talking to each other about the program. I don't want to name names but I've been talking to a lot of guys ever since I committed.

"I'm still going to take my official visits. I'm going to Cal for sure and I'll probably check out Arizona State and UCLA. I'm solid with Cal though, I have a great relationship with the coaching staff there but I still want to go through the process to make sure it's really the best place for me."
