Cochran Cuts Down His List

Atwater offensive line prospect Aaron Cochran has made a few changes to his list and could be close to scheduling some official visits...

Atwater (Calif.) Buhach Colony tackle Aaron Cochran took several unofficial visits over the spring and summer and now has a pretty good idea of where he'll officially visit.

"The main schools I'm focusing on right now are California, Oklahoma, Nebraska and UCLA," Cochran said. "I plan to take all five visits so I'm keeping that last spot open at the moment.

"I've been to Cal a number of times but have never really seen the other schools. I went to a UCLA practice but that was it, I didn't actually see the campus. Oklahoma and Nebraska have great football programs and tradition so I'm very excited to get out there."

Two schools Cochran did visit over the summer that looked good for official visits were Notre Dame and Wisconsin.

"I want to major in engineering and that's hard to do at Notre Dame and play football," Cochran said. "The academic advisors kind of discouraged it and said time wise, it's just really hard to pull off.

"I had a great visit to Wisconsin and they have a great lineman tradition as well. They don't really have a lot of ethnic diversity there and I think I would just be more comfortable at a few other places but it's a great school for sure. I really like Michigan State, I would like to visit there if they offer. If I can, I want to take all five trips during the season and then make my decision shortly after."
