The Wolverines feature UCLA commit Myles Jack as their defensive stalwart and he's also a major contributor on offense. Jack had a monster game in the season opening win over Euless Trinity. But he's not the only UCLA target on the Wolverines. Junior athlete Budda Baker already has a UCLA offer, and he's one of the most electric players out West in the 2014 class, playing safety, corner and running back, as well as returning kicks and punts (he had four kickoff returns for touchdowns last year). Bothell has one of the top 2015 quarterback prospects in the West, Ross Bowers, who camped at UCLA in the summer.
Upland (Calif.) at Long
Jordan is home to one of UCLA's primary skill position targets in four-star receiver John Ross, but Ross may be out for this game. Upland has UCLA recruit Joe Mathis on the defensive line.
Westlake Village Oaks Christian vs. Venice
Oaks Christian has been impressive in its two opening wins, while Venice was beaten handily by Chaminade before rebounding against Sylmar. From a college prospect standpoint, this one is a blowout in favor of Oaks Christian. The Lions senior class features linebacker Cameron Judge, a UCLA commit, and receiver Francis Owusu, headed to Stanford. The junior class may be even more talent laden with quarterback Brandon Dawkins and athlete Chris Davis leading the way. Dawkins already has offers from the likes of Notre Dame and Utah among others. Sophomore Darick Holmes also has a UCLA offer.
La Mirada vs. La Puente Bishop Amat
La Mirada won their first two games, but have a big test in Pac-5 foe Bishop Amat. The Matadores boast underclass prospects Tyler Luatua (2014) and 2015 quarterback Kevin Dillman, who both have UCLA offers. Bishop Amat features Duke commit Darren Andrews and cornerback Dionza Blue.
Orange Lutheran vs. El Modena
Featuring UCLA commit John Lopez on the offensive line, the Lancers take on El Modena, and look to move to 3-0 on the year.
Los Angeles Salesian vs. Covina Workman
Salesian is one of the most loaded small-school programs in the Southland, with one BCS commit, two 2014 BCS prospects and one of the best quarterbacks in Southern Section. Before they play Pasadena, they'll host Workman, and it will be our first chance to see UCLA commit Jermaine Kelly, a cornerback/receiver who had over 150 yards receiving a week ago, play in pads for Salesian. Getting him the ball will be pound-for-pound, the strongest armed quarterback in the West, Jihad Vercher, who had a huge game last week, with 200-yards passing and two touchdowns and almost 200 yards rushing and three touchdowns. The Mustangs also feature a pair of top 2014 prospects in Marquis Ware, who plays tight end and linebacker and is nearing double-digit offers as well as Jamardre Cobb, a two-way threat who also has a number of offers.
Encino Crespi vs. Fresno Clovis West
This intersectional game features one of UCLA's chief targets on defense, safety Tyler Foreman from Crespi, as well as another two players that UCLA is watching in safety Brandon Arnold and defensive end Ray Davision.
Fresno Central vs. Palos Verdes
The vaunted Fresno Central secondary will welcome UCLA target Johnny Johnson back for his season debut. Central also features Bruin target in L.J. Moore at corner and Hatari Byrd, who committed to Oklahoma, but whom UCLA hasn't given up on, at safety. The Tigers also feature a 2014 prospect with a UCLA offer, receiver Michiah Quick and three other underclassmen they're watching closely, safety Devon Brewer, defensive lineman Tashon Smallwood and running back Nick Wilson.
Marrieta (Ga.) Lassiter vs. Marrietta (Ga.) Sprayberry
UCLA's committed quarterback, Eddie Printz, will lead his team in their second game of the year, against crosstown foe, Sprayberry.
