UCLA Prospect Recap- Week Two

A look at how UCLA's commits and recruits did in week two action, including another big game on the ground for UCLA's committed running back...

Game of the Week: #7 Bellevue (Wash.) def. Bothell (Wash.), 35-7
For the second straight week, UCLA commit Myles Jack made a huge play defensively that set up a scoring drive for the Wolverines, forcing a fumble on a sack, that Bellevue returned for a touchdown, and the Wolverines eventually cruised to a four-touchdown win.

Rialto Carter def. Pomona Garey, 55-0
UCLA commit Kenneth Clark had 14 tackles, a sack and forced fumble to help Carter shutout Garey.  In two games, Carter has yet to give up a point, outscoring their opponents 99-0.

Upland def. Long Beach Jordan, 57-28
UCLA target John Ross was allowed to play in the game, after protesting a suspension from an ejection, but his presence wasn't enough for Jordan.  Ross scored a touchdown on a 59-yard run but finished with only 66 yards on four carries, and caught just one pass for six yards in the loss.

Westlake Village Oaks Christian def. Venice, 35-17
Junior quarterback Brandon Dawkins was 22-for-28 for 284 yards and three touchdown passes, two of them going to Stanford commit Francis Owusu, in the rout.  UCLA commit Cameron Judge added a couple of tackles and 2015 UCLA target Darick Holmes ran for 58 yards on seven carries and had seven tackles.

Orange Lutheran def. El Modena, 42-7
Featuring UCLA commit John Lopez on the offensive line, the Lancers ran for 274 yards and four touchdowns to remain unbeaten on the season.

Los Angeles Salesian def. Covina Workman, 46-6
UCLA commit Jermaine Kelly had a big night on the field, even if penalties derailed some of his performance.  He caught four passes for 46 yards, but had a 41-yard touchdown nullified by a penalty, and also had an 80-yard kickoff return get called back because of a flag.  Kelly added four tackles and an interception, which wasn't waved off, in the Mustangs win.

Redlands def. Los Osos, 14-10
UCLA commit Craig Lee had a workmanlike game where he carried the ball 26 times for 184 yards, including 48 yards on five carries on the decisive drive that put Redlands ahead. As the game went on, Lee, got stronger, peeling off 8-9 yard runs, and wearing down the Los Osos defense.

Marrieta (Ga.) Lassiter def. Marrietta (Ga.) Sprayberry, 49-10
UCLA committed quarterback Eddie Printz was 16-of-24 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns, while UCLA recruit Juwan Dickey had seven catches for 123 yards in a blowout win.
