Muhammad To Take His First Visit

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame's Khalfani Muhamad is set to take his first official visit of the season this coming weekend, and talks about the schools he's interested in...

Khalfani Muhammad is the fastest player in the state and pulled off a rare triple at last years CA state track championships. He won the 100m (10.52) and 200m (21.15) and also anchored the Knights winning 4X100m relay team.

On the recruiting front, Muhammad will take his first official visit this weekend to Notre Dame.

"I'm excited to see Notre Dame, it's going to be a pretty incredible atmosphere there," Muhammad said. "They're playing Michigan and it's a big rivalry between the two teams. You always hear a lot of great things about Notre Dame, especially at my high school, and I know the tradition and prestige they have is second to none.

"I just want to go out there and soak everything in but I don't plan to make an early decision. I want to take a few more trips and I don't see myself committing until after the season is over."

Muhammad has a visit set to Washington for (Oct. 13) and recently attended the UCLA - Houston game at the Rose Bowl. The Huskies and Bruins are on his short list.

"I took a visit to Washington in the spring and really liked it there," Muhammad said. "I like the coaches, the offense and the new facilities are going to be incredible. I'm excited for that visit, it should be a great time. I don't have any other trips set up right now but I do want to try and take all five if I can."
