Three Stand Out for Sorenson

Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita offensive lineman Riley Sorenson is one of the biggest and best lineman in the state and is mainly focusing on a trio of schools right now...

At 6-5, 330 pounds, Riley Sorenson I is a massive tackle prospect who could slide inside to guard at the next level as well. In one of the best games of the year, the Eagles came from behind to beat a very good Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure team 35-27. As always, the line play was a big reason for the Eagles success.

Riley lined up at right tackle and had a solid game. He's a mauler, very physical and finishes his blocks well. The key question on Sorenson has always been his weight and overall athleticism. He has dropped about 20 pounds since the spring and looks much better physically.

He still needs work on his feet and overall lateral mobility but he's headed in the right direction. He brings a lot of toughness to the table and just the right amount of nastiness.

On the recruiting front, Sorenson is mainly focusing on three Pac 12 schools right now and said two are standing out to him.

"I like Washington, California and UCLA," Sorenson said. "I'm planning to take official visits to Washington and Cal after the season. I've been to UCLA a number of times already so I'm not sure if I need to take one there or not, I haven't decided yet.

"Washington and Cal are slightly ahead right now. I've seen both schools and really like the campuses and just like the living areas better at those two places right now. Plus I think it would be cool to experience something new, a new location and environment."
