Update on Jeremy Castro

We have the most recent information on the talented 2012 prospect Jeremy Castro, who signed a NLI last February to attend UCLA this fall, in his quest to become eligible for UCLA...

Jeremy Castro, the freshman defensive end/linebacker, didn't qualify for UCLA admission in his recent ACT attempt, but he took a step closer, according to sources.

Castro, the 6-2, 250-pounder from Murietta (Calif.) Vista Murietta, raised his score on some sections of the test, which is a very good indication, but will still need to post a higher score on one more section to pass UCLA admissions.

Sources close to the situation believe it will be a fairly easy proposition for Castro and were very confident, with the recent results, that Castro will qualify for UCLA admission.

He intends to grayshirt, take the ACT again in October, and enroll at UCLA in either the winter or spring quarter, in time for spring practice.

Castro is now an NCAA qualifier, which opens up the possibility of the talented prospect going elsewhere. Right now, however, indications are that Castro is intent on attending UCLA.

Castro signed a National Letter of Intent in February as part of the 2012 incoming recruiting class, and attended classes at UCLA during the summer.
