News and notes from prospects from the Bay Area with UCLA interest...

Over the weekend, Scout was in the Bay Area, checking in on a number of the top 2013 and 2014 prospects in Northern California, including three Scout 300 members for 2013 and five Scout 300 members for 2014.

Here are some news and notes from the road of players with interest in UCLA.

Oakley (Calif.) Freedom receiver Darrell Daniels has been committed to Washington since June.

The four-star said he remains solid to the Huskies, and was initially planning to visit Washington officially this weekend, but has pushed it back.

Daniels said he may visit Miami and UCLA officially in the future.

El Cerrito (Calif.) 2014 cornerback Adarius Pickett had one Pac-12 offer before the weekend and added a second, from the hometown school, on Saturday.

The 2014 Scout 300 member had been offered by Utah during the summer and then received an offer from Cal on Saturday night following the Bears' win over UCLA in Berkeley

Pickett said he's also hearing from UCLA, Georgia, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Michigan, Arizona State, Boise State, Oregon and Vanderbilt.

Novato (Calif.) San Marin 2014 quarterback Manny Wilkins is waiting for his first offer, but several schools are showing interest in him as he continues his first year as the starter.

A member of the Scout 300 for 2014, Wilkins said he's hearing the most from Oregon, Cal, Utah, Washington State and Utah State.

Wilkins said that Oregon offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich will be coming to see him throw this week.

El Cerrito (Calif.) 2014 linebacker D.J. Calhoun got his first offer in late September from Washington.

The Scout 300 prospect for 2014 said the Huskies offered him as a linebacker/safety, which is what most schools like him as.

In addition to the Huskies, Calhoun is interested in Florida State, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, Utah, UCLA and USC, where his sister, Deanna, plays basketball.

Oakley (Calif.) Freedom 2014 running back Joe Mixon already has one Pac-12 offer and a few more schools could be on the cusp.

Oregon State offered the 2014 Scout 300 prospect in July, but Mixon said that Washington could be the next school to join the fray, the same school his teammate, Darrell Daniels, is committed to.

Colorado, Washington, Oregon State, Cal and UCLA are all talking to Mixon the most.

El Cerrito (Calif.) 2014 receiver Jalen Harvey is the third of the Gauchos' Scout 300 prospect for his class, and a number of schools have expressed interest in him.

Though he's waiting for his first offer, Harvey said Washington State, Arizona State, Oregon and Notre Dame have been showing the most interest.

Pleasanton (Calif.) Foothill 2014 cornerback Jamirr Holland is anxious to get his first offer, but a slew of Western schools have been keeping tabs on him.

The Scout 300 prospect has interest coming from Cal, Boise State, Oregon, UCLA and Utah.

Oregon is the top school for Holland.

Kentfield (Calif.) Marin Catholic 2014 quarterback Morgan Mahalak is spending the year as Jared Goff's understudy, but that hasn't stopped schools from showing interest.

Mahalak is playing receiver this season, but was diligent on the camp tour and has interest from a number of schools.

Miami, UCLA, Oregon State, Colorado, North Carolina and Boston College have all been in contact with Mahalak.
