UCLA commit Jermaine Kelly had five tackles and an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown as well as a 60-yard interception return, 2014 offeree Marquis Ware had a pair of touchdowns and 2014 recruit Jamardre Cobb had nine tackles to help Salesian clinch a league title.
Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei def. Orange
(Calif.) Lutheran, 32-21
It was a game of runs, with Mater Dei scoring the first 20 points, Orange Lutheran scoring the next 21 and Mater Dei ending with 12 unanswered to turn a 21-20 deficit into a 32-21 win. UCLA commit John Lopez helped the Lancers run for 243 yards against a stout Mater Dei defense, but it wasn't enough, falling to the Monarchs, who didn't have the services of UCLA target Thomas Duarte in the game. Duarte, though, was invited to the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl prior to the game. UCLA 2014 recruit Jonathan Lockett had a 74-yard punt return for a touchdown and added nine tackles and an interception from his cornerback position.
West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade def. La Canada (Calif.) St. Francis, 42-14
A day after getting offered by UCLA, Terrell Newby ran for 142 yards and a pair of touchdowns to keep Chaminade undefeated in league play.
Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian def. Moorpark (Calif.), 55-7
With a spot in the inaugural Marmonte League championship on the line, the Lions had no problem with the Musketeers, cruising to a 48-point win and setting up a league title game with St. Bonaventure. Junior quarterback Brandon Dawkins was 7-for-11 for 102 yards and ran for 60 yards and a touchdown in only a half and UCLA commit Cameron Judge had three tackles in just a half.
Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde def. Riverside (Calif.) Arlington, 27-20
Rancho Verde, led by UCLA commit Poasi Moala and four-star receiver Demorea Stringfellow, edged Arlington, thanks to 263 yards on the ground.
Rialto (Calif.) Carter def. San Bernardino (Calif.) Pacific, 41-0
Bruin verbal Kenneth Clark had seven tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery to clinch the league title for Carter in the 41-point win and shutout.
Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe def. Mesa (Ariz.) Westwood, 63-2
UCLA 2014 offer holder Jalen Browne had a monster game, with five touchdowns, four coming through the air, on eight catches for 154 yards, and another a 65-yard touchdown, while UCLA commit Kenny Lacy had a pair of tackles and helped Mountain Pointe rush for nearly 200 yards.

UCLA pledge Jalen Ortiz had 10 carries for 98 yards and a touchdown and a 41-yard touchdown reception in a blowout of Ironwood.

Redlands (Calif.) lost their first league game, 28-24 to Yucaipa with UCLA verbal Craig Lee sitting out with a shoulder injury, though he'll be back this week. Encinitas (Calif.) La Costa Canyon and commit Scott Quessenberry lost to Oceanside (Calif.), 56-0. Fallbrook (Calif.) offensive tackle Sean Dowling got his first win of the year, a 24-21 victory Escondido (Calif.). Long Beach (Calif.) Poly and UCLA commit Jayon Brown beat Long Beach (Calif.) Wilson, 48-6. Memphis (Tenn.) East offensive tackle Christian Morris lost to Memphis (Tenn.) Whitehaven, 23-0. Missouri City (Texas) Marshall linebacker Deon Hollins defeated Houston (Texas) Springwood, 60-0.
