UCLA Offers Utah Receiver

Sandy (Utah) Alta wide receiver Ammon Barker picked up an offer from UCLA earlier today and may be ready to make a commitment…

Sandy (Utah) Alta wide receiver Ammon Barker attended a UCLA camp this past summer and has been in communication with the coaches ever since.

"Initially at the start of the season our talking died down," said Barker. "Then they started talking to me more and more. Coach Tuiasosospo was talking to me a lot and then he came to my game a couple weeks ago. I sent him film yesterday; they met to watch it and then offered me."

Barker holds offers from Hawaii, Utah and Utah State, but the Bruin offer may have ended the process.

"I am really interested in UCLA," said Barker. "I am not sure if I am going to commit, but I am leaning towards UCLA. I am going to talk to my parents and coach and go from there."

"I have always wanted to live in California and I liked UCLA growing up," said Barker. "I thought I would maybe want to go there so I went to camp this summer and liked the campus."

In addition to recruiting, the 6'4" 207lbs receiver is trying to focus on the state playoffs and an upcoming game against Syracuse (Utah) High.

"It's definitely more to think about," said Barker. "But it's pushing me to play harder and harder. Just going to try and give it my all."
