Visits Impact Savaiinaea

Honolulu (Hawaii) Punahou LB Isaac Savaiinaea breaks down his official visits to Stanford and UCLA...

Honolulu (Haw.) Punahou four-star linebacker Isaac Savaiinaea committed to Stanford back in March. He was finally able to take his official visit to Palo Alto two weeks ago, when the Cardinal beat Washington State.

"Just the campus is really nice, I met all the players," said Savaiinaea. "I talked with my former teammate (Luke Kaumatule). The education is really good."

This past weekend, the 6'3" 230lbs prospect was in Westwood for an official visit to UCLA.

"The players were really cool, they were really welcoming and the coaches were welcoming," said Savaiinaea. "The NFL experience they have, like 40 years of NFL experience between the coaches, Mora was in the NFL so long. The campus is nice; it's surrounded by rich area."

Savaiinaea is likely done with official visits after taking four of his possible five to Notre Dame, Stanford, Texas A&M and UCLA.

"That was probably the last one," said Savaiinaea.

Heading into the last two visits, Savaiinaea had classified himself as a Stanford soft verbal. Is that were things still stand?

"Sort of," said Savaiinaea. "I would say that I am open."

While his recruitment just got a lot cloudier, it is clear that UCLA made quite an impression this past weekend. Savaiinaea is still considering all four of the programs he officially visited and could wait until signing day to make a final decision.

"Just the place that I feel most comfortable at," said Savaiinaea. "That can help me maximize my talents and have a good future."

Savaiinaea is now focused on the football field and trying to get his Punahou team to the state title game.

"We have a bye this week and we had one last week, a two week bye," said Savaiinaea. "Then we play Mililani to get to the semifinals."
