Wright Talks Recruitment

2014 wing prospect Namon Wright has started to see his UCLA recruitment heat up over the last few months, and attended the UCLA game this past weekend...

2014 shooting guard prospect Namon Wright took in UCLA's home opener in new Pauley Pavilion last week and came away impressed with what he saw.

"I had a great time," Wright said. "(Pauley) is big, and loud. The fans stayed loud the whole game, and stayed on their feet, things like that. It was a great atmosphere."

Wright, a four star prospect, has seen his UCLA recruitment start to heat up over the last few months, after UCLA didn't recruit him heavily earlier in the year.

"They're definitely recruiting me harder than they did in the spring," Wright said. "But I haven't gotten an offer yet. I'm hoping for one soon. They've been in touch with me a lot, and they've come to my practices and been calling me a lot."

Wright said that Coach Phil Matthews is the one contacting him the most from UCLA.

Even with UCLA recruiting him harder, Wright did say that other schools are probably recruiting him hardest right now.

"Oregon, Arizona State, Gonzaga, Florida State, and USC are all probably recruiting me the hardest," Wright said. "No one is really standing out, since it's still really early."

Given that it's still early in his recruitment, Wright said that he doesn't really have a timetable for a decision yet, as he doesn't yet know which schools will end up offering him. However, he did give an indication of what will be the biggest factors for him in making a decision.

"Whether it's an up and down team," Wright said. "And I want a coach who'll make me work hard and not let me slack off."
