Latest on Elijah Qualls

There aren't many players more solid in their commitment than Petaluma (Calif.) Casa Grande defensive lineman Elijah Qualls is to Washington. That hasn't stopped other schools from trying and the lineman said he may take a couple of official visits...

Elijah Qualls committed to Washington at the Huskies Rising Stars Camp over the summer but had been a huge lean well before then. Since his commitment, the lineman has been recruiting about as hard as any of the Husky coaches and will take his official visit to UW next month.

"I'm taking my visit (Jan. 18) and I can't wait to get out there," Qualls said. "I'll have my recruiting hat on for sure, I'm always recruiting for Washington. My goal is to bring in as much talent as possible and I think we already have a great recruiting class coming in."

Despite his commitment, a few other schools are still trying with Qualls.

"Nebraska and UCLA are the main two that are still talking to me," Qualls said. "They both really want me to visit and I might do it just for the heck of it. I haven't set up a date with them yet and I don't know if I'll visit for sure but I might go just to see what it's like there."

"I'm very solid with Washington, everyone knows that. I'm actually a little surprised other schools are even trying with me but I'm not mad about it. I understand how recruiting works. UCLA and Nebraska are great schools and I don't blame them for trying but I love Washington. My commitment is firm and I'm excited to get out there but I still might take those visits for the experience but I'm going to Washington, I'm a Dawg."

UCLA is pushing hard for Qualls to visit January 25th.
