Tuiasosopo to Leave for Washington

Marques Tuiasosopo, who was UCLA's inside receivers coach this past season, has elected to take the quarterbacks coach position at Washington...

We've heard that UCLA's inside receivers coach, Marques Tuiasosopo, will take the quarterback coach job at Washington. The move, we've heard, could double Tuiasosopo's salary while also allowing the former Huskies quarterback to return home.

From what we know, UCLA was willing to increase Tuiasosopo's salary, but the opportunity to return home and land a position coaching quarterbacks rather than receivers was too much for UCLA to compete with.

The move could impact the recruitment of committed UCLA linebacker Myles Jack. Although head coach Jim Mora has handled many aspects of the recruitment, as Jack goes to the same high school as his son, Tuiasosopo also played a role, so that recruitment will be an interesting one to watch until Signing Day.

Additionally, Tuiasosopo was the primary recruiter for uncommitted tight end Thomas Duarte, who has UCLA among his leaders. Again, this move could make that recruitment a much more interesting one to watch over the next several weeks.

We've heard, as well, that several other coaches on staff could draw interest from other schools, but, from what we've heard, we would expect UCLA to take the necessary steps to increase compensation for the coaching staff.
